Here in the Philippines, schools celebrate United Nations month with different activities. They also held lessons about cultural diversity. This is true to the spirit of the United Nations that commemorates friendship and partnership of nations.
United Nations month is usually celebrated on the month of October. The theme for this year's celebration is "Coming together with those farthest behind, build an inclusive world of universal rights and dignity." It is important to recall the fundamental connection between extreme poverty and human rights, and that people living in poverty are disproportionately affected by many human rights violations.
Extreme poverty and human rights are connected with each other. Extreme poverty violates the rights of a human life for example, a family who is so unfortunate and does not have the opportunity to got to school, or to attend their basic necessities like going to a hospital if they are sick or going to schools to learn but poverty keeps them from getting their rights.
Now, we should stand up and expose ourselves to the reality of our world. We should stand help those people who are in need and eradicate those corrupt politicians who are the number 1 reason why we are experiencing poverty. We should help together and fight poverty and fight for our rights.
